This morning, representatives from the Parliament of Malawi appeared before the Media, Information, and Communications Committee to provide an update on their adherence to the Access to Information Act of 2016.

During the briefing, Parliament officials outlined their efforts to comply with the Act, which mandates greater transparency and public access to information. They discussed various measures taken to ensure that information is readily available to the public and addressed any challenges encountered in the implementation process.

The session aimed to demonstrate Parliament’s commitment to upholding the principles of transparency and accountability as outlined in the Access to Information Act. The Committee’s review will help assess the effectiveness of these measures and identify areas for improvement in facilitating public access to parliamentary information.
